The renowned American silent Gothic melodrama starring and produced by Canada's first movie star, Mary Pickford.

Molly (Mary Pickford) is the eldest resident of a prison-like orphanage run by the abusive Mr. Grimes (Gustave von Seyffertitz), his neglectful wife (Charlotte Mineau), and their diabolical son, Ambrose ("Spec" O'Donnell). When Mr. Grimes becomes involved in a kidnapping plot, Molly realizes she must somehow escape and struggles to lead the younger children to freedom through the treacherous swamps that surround the orphanage where they have all been enslaved.

He's included it in a wide-ranging piano concert that includes music by Rameau, Debussy, Chopin and Schubert. Canadian pianist Bruce Vogt's multifaceted career has led him down an unusual path: improvising accompaniments for the great films of the silent era. He brings sound to many silent film masterpieces – including those by Keaton, and Laurel and Hardy. In movie theatres across Europe, Asia and North America, he has provided audiences a greater intimacy with these films, transforming the silence of the medium into another sphere.
